Intent:
The Music department offers a personalised and practical music programme. Across range of individual and group opportunities, students are encouraged to develop a love for music, a critical appreciation of style and genre, and a range of technical skills.
Implementation:
We offer individual and small group tuition in the following the following instruments:
Singing
Guitar, Electric and Acoustic
Bass
Drums
Ukulele
Keyboards
Songwriting
Composition using loops via GarageBand
We also have the facility to record any instrument, and greatly encourage students to compose and record their own songs or compositions.
ALL Genres of music are catered for, and all students are encouraged to try as many different instruments as possible.
A particularly popular part of the Music department has always been the opportunity to partake in one of the bands that we run, where all students are encouraged to participate in playing as part of a band unit. We then run a few school concerts throughout the year, where students can then show off their skills to other students and staff within the school.
Students can also take a QCA recognised Grade in any instrument, should they wish.
