**NEW SCHOOL OPENING - EXCITING OPPORTUNITY**

KS3 Teacher  — The Forum Centre- Woodlands Site, Wimborne

Are you a compassionate, creative and resilient teacher who wants to make a tangible difference in the lives of pupils who have experienced barriers to mainstream education? Join The Forum Centre (TFC), a nurturing and ambitious Pupil Referral Unit and play a key role helping KS3 pupils re-engage with learning, develop confidence and prepare for positive next steps. This vacancy exists because we are expanding: TFC is opening a new school in Colehill serving pupils from KS1 to KS3 with excellent facilities — and this growth is the reason for this exciting opportunity to join us.

About the role
We are looking for a KS3 class teacher to primarily teach Year 7–9 groups with a particular focus on Maths and English. You will:
• Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that build pupils’ skills, confidence and resilience.
• Teach a range of subjects to your class (English, Maths, Science and other relevant subjects), supported by TAs and specialist staff.
• Use assessment data and targeted interventions to accelerate progress and close gaps in pupil attainment.
• Help develop and deliver an integrated curriculum that balances ambition, relevance and flexibility — including vocational and practical learning.
• Contribute to the school’s restorative, relational approach to behaviour, supporting pupils’ personal development and self-regulation.
• Work closely with SLT, SENDCo, mentors and external partners to support pupils’ progress and reintegration into mainstream or specialist provision where appropriate.
• Participate in appraisal and ongoing professional development.

About you — the ideal candidate
You will be someone who:
• Is a qualified teacher with a passion for making learning accessible to pupils with complex needs.
• Has strong knowledge of the KS3 curriculum and effective assessment strategies to plan purposeful next steps.
• Can confidently teach and scaffold Maths and English so pupils make measurable progress.
• Uses a range of pedagogies and differentiation strategies to engage diverse learning styles.
• Builds positive, trusting relationships with pupils and models high expectations for behaviour and learning.
• Is collaborative and enjoys working within a multidisciplinary team, sharing ideas and contributing to whole-school improvement.
• Is committed to professional growth, reflective practice and developing specialist skills in SEMH and SEND approaches.
We particularly welcome candidates who are experienced (or keen to develop expertise) in sensory strategies, ELKLAN approaches, autism-aware classroom adaptations (AET), and relational practice — all priorities within our current school improvement plan.
What we offer
• A purposeful role where your work has visible, meaningful impact on pupils’ lives.
• A supportive, experienced staff team including SENDCo, reintegration mentors, TAs and a strong SLT.
• Opportunities for professional development linked to our improvement priorities (SEND provision mapping, reading curriculum, sensory profiling, vocational curriculum development and more).
• A collaborative working environment within a school committed to wellbeing, relational practice and career development.
• Recognition for strong staff wellbeing and manageable workload through structured planning time, shared resources and wellbeing initiatives.
• The chance to contribute to exciting developments — including curriculum review, outreach expansion, site development plans and the launch of our new Colehill school with excellent facilities for KS1–KS3 pupils.

• Interview date: w/c 11 May 2026

This check will be part of a safeguarding check, and the search will purely be based on whether an individual is suitable to work with children.
